So, before inspection day, go through your home and make sure there are clear pathways to areas like the attic, basement, and crawlspaces. You will also want to ensure that all doors and gates are open and not locked on the day you have the inspection.
Homeowners often have a list of repairs and home improvements that they want to get done before putting the property on the market. It is best if these jobs can be completed before the inspection. Make sure you also check your Co2 and smoke detectors, as they will be listed as faulty on the inspection report if they are not working correctly.
Pets, although beloved members of the household, have been known to create problems for home inspectors and even put them in danger – this will affect their ability to do a thorough job. So, if you have animals in the home that become very protective when strangers are around, you may wish to keep them in a secure area on inspection day or take them away from the property altogether.
